TATE HEISLER
adventure series
Friend-inspired.

Entry #1: For Brandt
For Brandt Berry, who has a knack for ideas.

Here's to not just dreaming those ideas up, but actually pursuing them, especially the absolutely insane ones.
One of his ideas, to be fair, was this project, so it's only fitting that I made his first.
Entry #2: For Callie
For Callie Heisler, my incredible sister.

A reminder to keep all things in perspective, especially as she spreads the Gospel in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
John 16:33 - "I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace; in this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world."

Entry #3: For Charlie
For Charlie Smith, who prays more than anyone I know.

A couple weeks back we were talking about goals, and decided this was a pretty dope one to have.
Starting your day with a heart oriented towards Him makes all the difference. That's double mint prime.

Photo Creds to Charlie Smith himself.
Entry #4: For James
For James Martin, the artful observer.
A lot of us hate silence. As soon as a lull in converation occurs, we try to fill it with words for the sake of noise. We hide from potential awkwardness by pulling out our phones and pretending to be busy. But sometimes it can just be really sweet to just stay in the silence together. To just listen to each other's quiet and be content that you're there, existing, together.

Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.

Entry #5: For Andrew
For Andrew Waters, whose youth paster once passed on this wisdom to him.

"Preach the Gospel, die, and be forgotten."

Simple, beautiful, and reminiscent of Ecclesiastes. This life on earth is a fleeting gift; while you've got it, live it well, in love, for the kingdom that lasts.
Entry #6: For Parks
For Parks Tompkins, an adventurer like me.
The cliché is to say the journey, not the destination, is the adventure. A road trip isn't a road trip without the seemingly endless driving, so take that chance to look outside the window and let God dazzle you with his craft.
Here's to tree-painted mountains, sand-covered beaches, ocean-sized lakes, and graffiti-tagged cities.
And, of course, "rivers and roads."

Entry #7: For Spencer
For Spencer Leger, my fellow Matthews-man.

Because when life takes a turn that's out of our plans, it's easy to stress and forget Truth: it's all in His hands, He is good, and His plans are even better than ours. With this at heart, we can lose the pressure, and cast our cares on Him.

Matthew 11:28-30 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am entle in spirit and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
